Indonesia focuses on uplifting MSMEs in the digital era

Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) has rolled out strategies to bolster micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital trade era. The ministry aims to transition MSMEs from solely offline sales to a combination of online and offline platforms. To achieve this, it is introducing programmes such as “digital education”, with initiatives like the Transformation 4.0 for MSMEs, targeting 30 million participants. The intent is to enhance the digital proficiency of MSMEs, enabling them to better utilise digital platforms and expand their market reach. Collaborations with the Indonesian E-Commerce Association and similar entities are underway, such as featuring a special “Proudly Made in Indonesia” page on e-commerce sites.
