HSBC vows support to Hong Kong reboot from the pandemic

HSBC has vowed support to continue the economic recovery of Hong Kong from the pandemic. Noel Quinn, the bank’s London-based CEO, said during the Global Financial Leaders’ Investment Summit that the event and the easing of quarantine measures will help the city to reboot from the pandemic. He said that as the international community continues to revisit Hong Kong, they will see the recovery of the domestic economy next year. Quinn met clients and staff before attending the HSBC-sponsored Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament over the weekend. Both events are aimed at showing the world the city is back to normal. He said that HSBC has many programmes to help small and medium-sized enterprises and other businesses to grow after the pandemic. He also highlighted China’s support for Hong Kong under the “one country, two systems” policy.
