HSBC launches USD150m venture debt, USD1bn ASEAN fund



HSBC announced a new USD150m venture debt offering, and a USD1bn ASEAN Growth Fund in Singapore, targeting new economy businesses, including digital platform companies supporting e-commerce in the region. The Venture Debt program offers flexible funding for high-growth companies in Singapore with venture capital or private equity backing, aiming to support a variety of financial needs for up to three years. This initiative, alongside the ASEAN Growth Fund, is designed to help companies scale internationally, grow assets, and progress in their development. These programmes complement HSBC’s USD200m New Economy Fund, enhancing financial solutions for clients at different growth stages. The bank emphasises its commitment to supporting startups through financing, strategic partnerships, and its network, acknowledging Singapore’s role as a burgeoning tech hub in Asia’s rapidly expanding digital economy.
