Hong Kong Re-Domiciliation Scheme Attracts More Than 50 Companies

The Hong Kong re-domiciliation scheme has attracted more than 50 companies since its introduction in May 2025, with over 30 additional applications being processed, according to Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui.
Speaking at the launch of new nominee and platform services for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing's Integrated Fund Platform, Hui highlighted the city's efforts to strengthen its asset management infrastructure.
The re-domiciliation mechanism provides eligible overseas companies with a pathway to relocate their corporate domicile to Hong Kong.
The city has also registered more than 790 open-ended fund companies since July 2018 and over 2,000 limited partnership funds since August 2020.
Hui said authorities would continue working with HKEX, the Securities and Futures Commission and industry participants to improve fund distribution services.
Additional initiatives include enhanced mutual fund recognition arrangements and expanded cross-border investment channels.
The developments could strengthen Hong Kong's attractiveness to international fund managers and family offices seeking regional investment structures.
