HKIFA’s 17th conference focuses on empowerment, change

The HKIFA 17th Annual Conference took place on June 24, featuring the theme “Em–,” which signifies the industry’s new chapter with ideas like “Embrace” change, “Empower” people, and “Enable” connectivity with China. Attendees contributed words starting with “Em–” to reflect collective growth efforts, showcased in “word clouds”. Keynote speaker Mr. Paul Chan, the Financial Secretary, discussed new technologies like tokenisation and new fund distribution platforms, along with the opportunities and challenges in enhancing Hong Kong-Mainland connectivity. The conference, which ran from 8:45am to 3:40pm followed by networking drinks, is a key industry event attracting fund managers, distributors, trustees, and other professionals, highlighting the strength and potential of Hong Kong’s fund management sector.
