Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing CEO Bonnie Chan said foreign investors should consider increasing their exposure to Chinese assets, citing low overseas participation and shifting global portfolio strategies. Speaking at the 2025 Lujiazui Forum, Chan noted that investor interest in renminbi-denominated assets is rising as confidence in US dollar assets faces headwinds. She highlighted efforts by mainland Chinese exchanges to attract more international capital this year, including through Hong Kong stocks, A-shares, and other investment channels. Chan also stressed the importance of diversifying financial products and enhancing risk management tools to support inbound investment. Her remarks come as global investors look to rebalance portfolios amid geopolitical shifts and economic recalibrations, presenting opportunities for deeper integration of China’s markets into global capital flows.
