HK accountants see positive economic growth

A survey by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) showed that as many as 85% of accountants believe Hong Kong's economy will have positive growth this year. The survey was conducted from December 1 to 12, 2021 covering financial and accounting experts from all industries and of different ages. Jennifer Tan, chairman of ACCA Hong Kong, said enterprises intend to boost manpower and project investment in order to brace for an economic recovery. Of the respondents, 72% expected the border reopening to post a great impact on Hong Kong's economy. But Tan said that a delay or failure to reopen the border due to a resurgence in Covid-19 cases would not turn the positive growth into a negative one, as business owners are adapting to the new environment and tapping into e-commerce services.
