Goldman Sachs Asian wealth management operations are expanding as the US investment bank accelerates adviser recruitment to serve growing numbers of wealthy individuals and families across the region.

Global Co-Head of Wealth Management Nishi Somaiya said the bank was strengthening advisory teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.

Goldman Sachs is targeting double-digit growth in its Asian wealth business through new client relationships and increased engagement with existing customers.

Demand is being driven by wealthy families seeking greater diversification into US assets, alongside new fortunes generated by artificial intelligence and technology businesses.

Generational wealth transfers are also increasing demand for advice on investment strategies, concentrated shareholdings and tax planning.

According to Boston Consulting Group, Hong Kong became the world's largest cross-border wealth booking centre in 2025, with USD2.95tr in assets.

Goldman Sachs did not disclose specific recruitment targets.

The expansion highlights intensifying competition among international banks for Asian family office and high-net-worth clients.
