Real estate private equity firm Gaw Capital Partners has formed a joint venture with A3 Capital to invest in green field and under-performing Internet data centre (IDC) assets across key markets in the Southeast Asia region. The collaboration is aimed at creating a portfolio of tier-3 certified data centre assets. Gaw Capital Partners managing director and head of IDC platform for Asia (ex-China) Kok Chye Ong said the company, working together with Infinaxis Data Centre Holdings, will develop, acquire, or reposition four to five data centres in different locations throughout Southeast Asia. The JV platform will develop a 12 MW information technology load IDC facility on one of the plots.
