Family Office Services Expand Nationwide as Taiwan Approves 11 Banks

Taiwan family office services are expanding beyond Kaohsiung after the Financial Supervisory Commission authorised 11 banks to offer their services nationwide, supporting the island’s ambitions to become a major Asian asset management centre.
The regulator announced on October 8 that 11 of the 17 domestic and foreign banks operating in Kaohsiung’s wealth management zone had satisfied requirements covering internal controls, risk management, customer complaints, and employee training.
The banks had previously been restricted to providing family office services within the designated zone, which opened in July 2025.
The FSC has issued guidelines covering the scope of services, risk management, and cooperation with third-party providers to support the nationwide expansion.
The decision will allow approved institutions to extend specialised wealth management and family office services to wealthy clients across Taiwan.
The initiative forms part of a broader government strategy to strengthen Taiwan’s financial services industry and develop its position as a regional asset management hub.
