Deutsche Bank has appointed a former JPMorgan executive as a managing director and group head for wealth management in Southeast Asia. Based in Singapore, Esther Wong reports to Anurag Mahesh, vice chairman and interim head of international private bank (IPB) Southeast Asia, effective January 2023. Wong is tasked with expanding Deutsche Bank’s private banking footprint in Southeast Asia across lending, investing, cash management, one-bank solutions (OBS) and inter-generational wealth transfer services to ultra-high net worth (UHNW) and family office clients. Wong spent 10 years with JPMorgan focusing on the UHNW client segment. Previously, she also spent five years at UBS.
Deutsche Bank has been expanding its private banking unit in Asia as of late, most notably with the hire of ex-Credit Suisse Asia deputy wealth head Jin Yee Young.
