Ex-Afterpay CFO Harris Named CIO at USD12.8bn Forrest Family Office

Nicola Forrest’s family office Coaxial, managing USD12.8bn, has appointed Richard Harris as chief investment officer and Sameer Vij as chief financial officer in two major hires. Coaxial was established in 2023 after her split from Fortescue Metals founder Andrew Forrest. Harris, a former Afterpay CFO and risk officer, oversaw its 2016 ASX listing before Square’s USD39bn acquisition in 2021. Vij joins from Aveo, where he was CFO until Brookfield’s USD3.85bn acquisition in June, and previously worked at Lendlease as group M&A director. Forrest said the new executives would help position Coaxial for “impact at scale” with long-term value creation strategies.
