European chamber in South Korea names new chair

Philippe Van Hoof, head of ING Korea, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the European Chamber of Commerce in Korea (ECCK) until early 2025, according to the business association. He succeeds Dirk Lukat, CEO of Schenker Korea, who stepped down prematurely due to a transfer. Van Hoof, a Belgian with a 29-year banking career, has extensive experience in Asia, having held key positions in Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. The ECCK, which advocates for trade and business ties between Europe and South Korea, currently has around 400 member companies representing roughly 50,000 employees in Korea.
