Deutsche Bank ramps up Asia financing business with new roles

Deutsche Bank AG is strengthening its financing business in Asia by creating new roles to increase revenue in the region. Rahul Chawla, former co-head of investment banking coverage in India, has been appointed as the Head of Financial Sponsor Financing for Asia. The bank is also collaborating with a search firm to recruit more individuals for financing roles in the region. This initiative is in response to the growing importance of private equity firms and their deals for banks, leading many to establish separate units to serve their needs. Chawla will move from Mumbai to Singapore later this year. Additionally, Apoorv Madhup has been promoted to Head of India Financing, and Sameer Gupta has been promoted to head of Southeast Asia for debt capital management.
