Cryptocurrency payment will become mainstream says Ethereum founder

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin expressed optimism that cryptocurrency payment will become mainstream on the back of the fast-growing blockchain industry, and ethereum becoming cheaper and more accessible to a broader user base. Buterin, who spoke in a session at the Korea Blockchain Week 2022 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, said many people around the world are quietly using crypto for international payments already and that a lot of opportunities for crypto payments lie ahead for lower-income countries as well. The upgrade of ethereum is expected to dramatically cut the current cost of transaction fees, he added.
