Citi has appointed Akira Kiyota and Taiji Nagasaka as co-heads of investment banking for Japan

Citi has appointed Akira Kiyota and Taiji Nagasaka as co-heads of investment banking for Japan, as part of a strategic push to deepen its regional presence. Kiyota joins from Nomura, where he served as global head of mergers and acquisitions. Nagasaka is a long-time Citi executive.

Masuo Fukuda, currently vice chair of Citi Japan and head of investment banking for the country, will now also act as vice chair for investment banking across Japan and North Asia.

In a statement, Citi said the appointments aim to strengthen client relationships and reinforce its investment banking operations in Japan. The country remains a strategic priority with a robust pipeline of deals, the bank added.
