Citi has bolstered its Asia Pacific treasury and trade solutions team with two significant appointments. Sumanta Panigrahi has been named as the head of trade and working capital solutions (TWCS), APAC, and will be based in Hong Kong. A Citi veteran since 2000, Panigrahi will focus on expanding the TWCS business in Asia. Meanwhile, Thus De Silva has been confirmed as the APAC head of commercial cards, a position he assumed on an interim basis in 2022. Positioned in Singapore, De Silva has been with Citi since 2008 and has made significant contributions to the bank’s commercial cards unit. Citi’s TTS unit services over 90% of Fortune 500 companies, boasting a vast global footprint in 95 countries.
