Chinese fund managers invest in their own funds to boost capital market

Fourteen leading Chinese fund managers, including E Fund Management, China Asset Management, and Harvest Fund Management, are set to invest over CNY850m in their own funds. This move follows the China Securities Regulatory Commission’s encouragement to strengthen the capital market. Guotai Junan announced a CNY200m investment in its equity fund products. The prevalent sentiment among these firms is their confidence in the “long-term healthy and stable development of China’s capital market”. This commitment is in alignment with last month’s decision by major mutual fund companies in China to reduce fees for approximately 1,500 products, reflecting regulators’ push to lower investor costs.
