The International Finance Forum (IFF) and China Galaxy Securities have released the 2025 Global Sustainable Investment Index Report, ranking China, the UK, and Thailand as the top three among 33 nations. The index evaluates sustainability capacity, economic quality, and support for green transition initiatives.
The report highlights strong momentum in the Asia-Pacific region, fuelled by policy backing and rapid growth in clean energy and green finance. China leads due to large-scale green product expansion and successful economic transition. However, global environmental quality continues to deteriorate, posing a significant challenge.
To close the USD9tr climate finance gap, the report urges enhanced international cooperation, policy alignment, and mobilisation of long-term capital. It concludes that sustainable development is now a strategic necessity, not a choice, amid escalating geopolitical risks and environmental pressures.
