China Actively Managed ETFs Expand as Regulator Approves 18 Funds

China actively managed ETFs are set to expand following regulatory approval of 18 new exchange-traded funds, potentially directing tens of billions of yuan into domestic equities.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission approved the products as authorities seek to strengthen investor confidence and support stock market stability.
Each fund could raise approximately RMB2bn (USD300m), according to domestic media reports, with sales expected to begin on Friday.
CSRC Chairman Wu Qing said regulators would expand investment channels for long-term capital while strengthening market oversight amid increasing global financial volatility.
The commission also plans to improve monitoring of public and private investment funds and introduce guidelines governing artificial intelligence applications in securities markets.
Additional measures include tougher penalties for illegal share disposals and guidance on investor compensation.
For institutional investors and family offices considering Chinese equities, the expansion of actively managed ETFs could provide additional investment options and exposure to professional portfolio management strategies.
