BNY Mellon has appointed former Goldman Sachs executive Nehal Mehra to the newly created role of head of Asia‑Pacific securities financing and global collateral, strengthening the US bank’s markets franchise as clients seek greater access to regional assets. Based in Hong Kong, Mehra will oversee securities lending, repo and collateral management strategy across BNY’s platforms and coordinate product development with global heads Nehal Udeshi, Gesa Johannsen and Nelius De Groot. Mehra joins after leading cross‑asset financing at Goldman and is tasked with expanding balance‑sheet solutions for sovereign wealth funds, insurers and asset managers amid rising demand for liquidity and collateral optimisation in China and other Asian markets. The hire underlines BNY’s investment in APAC markets.
