Global asset manager Blackstone announced the expansion of its private equity business in Singapore, marking a strategic move to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia. Celebrating a decade in Singapore, Blackstone has opened a new office to accommodate its growth. Joe Baratta, Global Head of Private Equity, emphasised Singapore’s role as a gateway to regional opportunities. Amit Dixit, Head of Asia for Blackstone Private Equity, highlighted the firm’s strong Asian presence and plans to expand the Singapore team, which already exceeds 100 professionals. The expansion, led by Aravind Krishnan, aligns with Blackstone’s aim to capitalise on Southeast Asia’s dynamic economy. The firm’s significant investments and a recent USD11bn fundraise for Asian private equity underscore its growing influence in the region.
