Bank of Singapore (BOS) has hired senior BlackRock executive, Robert Reid, to head its alternative investments and managed solutions operation. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Lim Leong Guan, global head of products and Teresa Lee, head of Greater China, Hong Kong branch. Reid has 30 years of legal, consulting and financial experience in the Asia Pacific region. At BlackRock, he was its country head of Hong Kong and Taiwan after joining the asset manager eight years ago as head strategist and chief operating officer for the iShares business in Asia. Previously, he also held senior leadership roles at other asset managers and sell-side firms. Reid takes over the role from Fidelis Oruche, who left BOS earlier this year to become global head of capital markets and investments and wealth solutions (IWS) platforms at HSBC.
