Bank Negara Malaysia names new deputy governor


Adnan Zaylani Mohamad Zahid has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, effective from September 1, for a three-year term. He will oversee the financial markets and development sectors and will be a member of the bank's board of directors and various committees. Adnan Zaylani, who holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Oxford and a Master of Science in Global Market Economics from the London School of Economics, has been with Bank Negara since 1994. He has been involved in various areas of central banking, including investments, financial markets, foreign exchange policy, and Islamic finance. Currently, he is also the chairman of the financial markets committee of the International Islamic Liquidity Management Corporation.
