Bahamas Family Office Incentives Target Wealthy Asian Families

Bahamas family office incentives are being developed to attract wealthy Asian families through tailored investment agreements covering immigration, taxation, business licensing and exchange controls.
Economic Affairs Minister Jerome Fitzgerald said qualifying international family offices would be treated as strategic foreign direct investments, allowing them to negotiate bespoke arrangements similar to those offered for major development projects.
The government also plans to introduce a tax residency certificate enabling individuals who spend at least 90 days annually in the Bahamas to apply for residency.
The qualifying days would not need to be consecutive.
A new investment concierge unit will coordinate regulatory approvals and assist wealthy families establishing operations in the country.
Additionally, the government intends to remove value-added tax on trust services by the end of 2026.
The measures could strengthen the Bahamas' appeal to Asian family offices seeking international diversification, alternative residency arrangements and flexible wealth management structures.
