Australian investment funds to explore opportunities in the Philippines

Fourteen Australian investment funds and corporations will visit the Philippines next month for a business mission, the Australian Embassy in Manila announced. The mission, scheduled for September 5-6 in Makati City, will be led by Macquarie Group CEO Shemara Wikramanayake, Australia’s Business Champion for the Philippines. The delegation includes representatives from the agribusiness, resources, infrastructure, and digital sectors. They will be joined by Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Hae Kyong Yu, Austrade CEO Xavier Simonet, and Export Finance Australia CEO John Hopkins. The group is set to meet with senior Philippine government officials and local conglomerates. The mission aligns with Australia’s recent establishment of the Investment Deal Team in the Philippines to promote and facilitate Australian investments in the country.
