APEC Financial Policy Coordination Strengthens Focus on Regional Stability

APEC financial policy coordination will be strengthened as finance ministers seek to address external economic risks, improve financial resilience and support sustainable growth across the Asia-Pacific region.
China's Finance Minister Lan Fo'an said participating economies had agreed to deepen macroeconomic cooperation and strengthen financial systems to safeguard regional stability.
Ministers discussed the potential for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to improve productivity, alongside fiscal policies supporting household consumption and economic development.
Lan emphasised the importance of balancing government spending initiatives with fiscal discipline and sustainable public finances.
A separate policy statement called for increased investment in secure, accessible and resilient digital infrastructure, improved digital skills and stronger cross-border connectivity.
Ministers also encouraged cooperation among governments, private companies and multilateral development banks to mobilise investment and develop innovative financing arrangements.
For institutional investors and family offices, the discussions highlight regional priorities in infrastructure financing, technological development and economic stability.
