Alibaba is developing a ChatGPT-style artificial intelligence tool that is currently in internal testing while NetEase also unveiled similar plans. ChatGPT has been rated the fastest-growing consumer app in history since it was launched in November. Microsoft is developing a ChatGPT-like dialogue robot which is currently open to employees for testing. Meanwhile, the AI team at Youdao, NetEase's e-learning unit, is researching the incorporation of AI-generated content into its education service adding that the team has explored adopting the content for teaching languages, marking Chinese compositions, and more. This came as shares of Zhihu rocketed as much as 57% to a record HKD36.6 before closing 39% up at HKD32.45 as investors made speculative bets on AI technology.
