The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) and Industry Super Australia (ISA) are close to finalising a merger to create a new, unified organisation. The merger aims to consolidate resources and better serve members' long-term interests amid pressures to reduce costs and marketing expenditure. Despite their different approaches, with ISA known for its aggressive media campaigns and AIST for its focus on education and conferences, both organisations are committed to advocating for positive change that benefits members. While it is still unclear what the merged entity will be called, and despite plenty of disagreements and a reported operational deficit of AUD1.1m (USD731,000) by AIST in 2022, both organisations are working together on a constitution and are confident about the merger's completion.
