Vietnam's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 3.72% in H1 2023, the lowest half-year growth in 13 years, with the exception of H1 2020, as reported by the General Statistics Office (GSO). This expansion was credited to various sectors, with the agro-forestry-fishery sector expanding 3.07%, industry and construction growing by 1.13%, and the service sector increasing by 6.33%. The government's promotion of tourism has also been recognized as a significant factor in maintaining the growth of the service sector. Despite these growth rates not being high, GSO General Director Nguyễn Thị Hương reassured that inflation remains under control and essential goods are available, attributing the growth to the collective effort of the entire political system, government, and business community.
