Tikehau Capital set to expand Asian footprint with Nikko Asset Management

Tikehau Capital, a Paris-based global alternative asset management group, and Nikko Asset Management, one of Asia’s leading asset managers, are in advanced talks to form a strategic business and capital alliance. This partnership would include distribution agreements in Japan and Asia and a joint venture focused on Asian private market investment strategies. As part of the agreement, Nikko Asset Management plans to acquire a significant, yet non-disclosing, equity stake in Tikehau Capital. With USD219.2bn in assets under management, Nikko’s expertise in active fund management is set to significantly enhance the partnership. Stefanie Drews, President of Nikko Asset Management, sees this collaboration with Tikehau Capital as a crucial part of their global growth strategy, emphasising the significance of Asia in the private asset sector.
