Thailand has been named as head of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) taskforce that will seek to restore normal travel between its 21 member nations, according to an announcement. The APEC Safe Passage Taskforce seeks to accelerate economic recovery by restoring normal travel. Department of International Economics Affairs director-general Cherdchai Chaivaivid said the group has discussed various aspects of this issue, such as vaccine certificates, safe and sustainable tourism, and extension of the Apec Business Travel Card project, to strengthen travel with APEC for the long term.
