Global investment manager SoftBank Group is reportedly looking at expanding its investment team in Japan as part of an overall plan to further invest into its home country. According to reports, SoftBank’s Vision Fund team in Japan is actively hiring to expand beyond its current size of four members. Among the open positions are analysts, associates, and vice-presidents. A spokesperson for SoftBank Investment Advisers told Bloomberg there is no fixed target for the number of hires in the future. Vision Fund raised about USD151bn for its two vehicles but most of the investments were made overseas. Only two investments have been in Japanese startups.
