Nomura hires new SEA investment banking head

Nomura Holdings has named Jwalant Nanavati as the new head of its Southeast Asian investment banking business. Nanavati, who has been head of the Asia ex-Japan technology, media, and telecom (TMT) investment banking team for Nomura, will be relocated to Singapore from Hong Kong later this year. He will also continue to hold the TMT role. Nanavati was the co-head of TMT investment banking for Asia Pacific at BNP Paribas from January 2016 to November 2018, when he joined Nomura. He also served as BNP Paribas’ managing director and head of advisory and capital markets for investment banking in India. Nanavati was the director of investment banking for India at Deutsche Bank from 2008 to 2012, and was the vice president of investment banking in India for Lehman Brothers from 2006 until 2008.
