At least 300 businesses have participated in the ASEAN Online Sale Day 2022, which is part of activities marking the 55th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The three-day event, which kicked off Monday, brought together the best of ASEAN businesses, goods, and services across the region on a single platform. Co-hosted by Cambodia – ASEAN Chair 2022, Singapore and Vietnam, the programme had two tiers for domestic and cross-border transactions. Reputable e-commerce businesses and platforms in the 10 ASEAN countries also launched a series of special discounts for consumers. The event complements ongoing ASEAN member states’ efforts to encourage digitalisation among businesses and support post-pandemic recovery plans.
