Malaysia’s debt level is manageable and there are no other issues that will cause the country to go bankrupt. Instead, finance minister Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz expressed confidence that the country’s growth prospects are intact to put it in a stronger fiscal position. The finance minister made the pronouncement in response to a viral video on social media that said Malaysia needs financial aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as it faces bankruptcy. He stressed that the IMF itself has acknowledged that Malaysia’s debt is at a manageable level. The country, he added, is also disciplined in paying its debt obligations.
