J.P. Morgan Asset Management has named Ayaz Ebrahim as the incoming CEO for its Singapore and Southeast Asia operations, subject to regulatory approval. Ebrahim, who joined J.P. Morgan Asset Management in 2015, currently serves as a portfolio manager and co-head of the APAC regional team within the emerging markets and APAC equities division. With a 34-year tenure in the industry, Ebrahim has held significant positions at Amundi, HSBC, and Deutsche Bank. Based in Singapore, he will report to Dan Watkins, CEO of APAC, and Anuj Arora, head of emerging markets and APAC equities. Ebrahim’s appointment follows Sherene Ban’s transition from leading the Singapore and Southeast Asia business to her new role as head of continental Europe institutional. During Ban’s three-year leadership, she played a pivotal role in strengthening J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s presence and client partnerships in the region.
