Hong Kong’s Seventh Belt and Road Summit Draws to a Successful Close

The Seventh Belt and Road Summit, jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), concluded on 1 September 2022. The summit was attended by about 19,000 participants from more than 80 countries, and included state leaders, senior officials, regional government leaders, and business leaders who came to explore the business potential of the Belt and Road Initiative, and to drive synergies and create win-win opportunities through multilateral collaborations such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). Attending the summit, Jonathan Watkin of Asia First complimented the HKTDC on a successful event which drew much support and many potential business partners, including for new game-changing technology in hydrogen solid state storage through Sustainable Energy Investments Ltd, of which he is CEO.
