Global investors hail South Korea’s move to revamp financial rules

The finance ministry of South Korea stated that global investors have praised the country's latest efforts to revamp its financial regulations, including extending trading hours. According to the ministry, during Finance Minister Choo Kyung-ho's meetings with major US investors like Blackstone, Bank of New York Mellon, and Goldman Sachs, earlier this week, the CEOs of global investment firms expressed their positive view on the economy and the financial market of South Korea. The officials also hinted that the country could attract more investors seeking to expand their investment portfolio in Asia by making its market more accessible to foreigners. The ministry added that the investors also pointed out that the extension of foreign-exchange trading hours will help vitalise South Korea's asset market.
