G20 economies forecast to grow 4.8% this year

The lessened threat of the pandemic will allow for more social and economic activities to normalise, sending the GDPs of G20 advanced and G20 emerging economies to grow at 4.2% and 4.8%, respectively. Moody’s Investors Service also said the share of ratings with a stable outlook in Moody’s Asia Pacific corporate portfolio was around 81% at the end of 2021, higher than the 72% at the end of 2020. The progress on vaccination and the availability of booster shots will further open economies, resulting with more normalised activities, according to Moody’s senior vice president and group credit officer Clara Lai.
