China reopening offers hope to global growth

Senior bankers and economists expressed on the first day of the 16th Asian Financial Forum (AFF) 2023 in Hong Kong that the global economic outlook remains challenging in H1. This year's Forum comes hot on the heels of the resumption of quarantine-free travel between Hong Kong and Mainland China, along with Hong Kong's international business travel returning to normal. Speaking about 2023, Valerie Baudson shared there will be three factors that will determine the global outlook. The first one is central bank policy with inflation, which has started to decrease. Second is the energy crisis, and the way European governments will manage it. The third is the Chinese reopening, which will be very important for global growth.
