Bilateral trade volume for the first eight months of 2022 under the economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia has reaped USD131.2bn, or an increase of 21.2% year-on-year. China’s Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing said that of the RM87.4 billion foreign direct investment (FDI) approved by Malaysia in the first half of this year, China’s share amounted to RM48.6bn or 55.6% of the total FDI. He said that China and Malaysia relations have witnessed more and greater achievements at an accelerated speed, while high-level contacts have also broken new ground for further cooperation. Ouyang is optimistic that the trend will continue to develop in a healthy and stable manner. This year also marks the 48th anniversary of the establishment of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations.
