The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) officially held its annual Superannuation Investment Conference (ASI) at the Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort from Monday, 28 August to Thursday, 31 August 2023. The event, which spanned over four days, started with a welcome function on Monday evening, followed by two full days of conference sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, and concluded with a breakfast session on Thursday. The conference brought together trustees, fund executives, and investment professionals who discussed the latest trends, strategies and challenges facing the superannuation industry. Topics for discussion included a geopolitical update, emerging challenges and opportunities, investment trends, investment governance, biodiversity loss and climate change, and impact investing, among others. ASI has been a pivotal event for over a decade, providing a platform for SMEs, leaders, and investment decision-makers in the superannuation industry to learn about new trends and practices in investing superannuation monies on behalf of millions of Australians.
